Connecticut’s Westport House Sober Living Program Expands its Leadership Team With Industry Veteran
Westport House, Connecticut’s premier transitional sober living program for men, is proud to announce that Robert Deffendall has joined our team as Director of Residential Services.
Deffendall joins Westport House after five years in various executive and direct care positions at Turnbridge – a provider of long-term addiction treatment services in New Haven, CT. He has extensive experience working with individuals recovering from substance abuse. In fact, Rob was named Turnbridge’s Employee of the Year in 2013 – a recognition of his commitment and dedication to individuals suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders.
“In his new position, Mr. Deffendall will oversee all residential programming and operations, according to Al Samaras, Executive Director of Westport House. In addition, he will evaluate our entire program, looking for opportunities to develop and coordinate programming and operations to ensure all clients are receiving the highest quality care and treatment interventions.”
“His experience, combined with his compassion and leadership qualities, will ultimately make Westport House a more effective program,” continued Samaras.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with Mr. Samaras, his staff, our clients and their families.” says Deffendall. “Westport House performs a valuable and much needed service for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. I am looking forward to capitalizing on our successes and to improving our programs where I can.”
