Who said the holidays were all fun and games? At Westport House, we’re guessing it wasn’t someone in recovery struggling to make it through this difficult time of year.
Happy New Year from Westport Sober House in Connecticut!
Over the recent holidays here at Westport Sober House we were able to not only give back to the community and to those less fortunate through service but also enjoy a sober, healthy, and compassionate holiday season. Holidays can be a difficult time of year for young men in recovery and that’s why we brought everyone together to make this year special.
Our festivities not only included Christmas dinner and presents for the residents who did not return home, but also a rockin’ New Years Eve party that included the residents, staff, friends, family, and even a sponsor or two!
We believe it is important for the residents to be as involved as possible with their families, recovery, and real life during this time of year. And if you didn’t know any different, you’d swear that New Years Eve at Westport House was no different than in any other community….well, maybe just a bit quieter 🙂
It was great to see the residents interact with each other, help decorate the sober house, and cook for both holidays. This year was a successful sober holiday season surrounded by lots of support from staff as well as the love of families and friends.
We look forward to the upcoming year and please stay tuned for more updates to come!
